Objective
AquaCycle’s mission to change the present paradigm of wastewater treatment and reuse in Mediterranean countries will be pursued through the following set of a strongly intertwined objectives:
1) Promoting the operational application of an eco-innovative technology based on natural processes and renewable solar energy, which is well adapted to the prevailing Mediterranean conditions and wastewater treatment challenges.
2) Improving governance mechanisms and promoting active involvement of local actors and stakeholders in the development of action plans for the reuse of the treated effluent for the benefit of local societies, and
3) Preparing the ground for future investments in the novel wastewater treatment technology, and thus targeting increased employment opportunities and long-term endogenous economic growth. |
